How to Set Up a Blog Post Template in HubSpot

Access Blog Template Settings

Navigate to Settings by clicking the gear icon in the top right of your HubSpot account. In the left-hand panel, scroll down to the Content section and click Blog. Once there, click the Templates tab — this is where you manage both your blog post and blog listing templates.

Assign the Generator Blog Post Template

Locate the Blog Post Template row. If Generator is not already set as the default, click Actions and select Change Template. This opens HubSpot's theme selector. Choose Generator, Generator Child, or whatever you named your child theme.

Choose Your Blog Post Layout

After selecting your theme, you'll be taken to a template selector with two options:

Blog Post — A single-column, clean and minimalist layout. Great for standard blog content.

Blog Post – Table of Contents — A two-column layout with a sticky sidebar Table of Contents. Clicking items in the sidebar uses Scroll Spy to jump to sections of the page. A popular choice for long-form content.

Select the template that fits your content strategy and confirm your choice to apply it to your account.

Note: A third template (Blog Post 3) is in development and expected in Q3. No action needed on that one yet.
