When you first install the Generator theme, your site will include a header by default — it's a global element that appears above the content section on every page. Out of the box, it contains a logo and a button, but no navigation menu. This lesson walks you through configuring the logo, adding a menu, and customizing the button.
Before you can add a menu to your header, you need to create one in HubSpot.
Keep in mind: any pages included in your menu must be published to appear in the navigation. Unpublished (draft) pages will not show up. If you're not ready to publish to your main domain, you can publish pages to your HubSpot staging domain instead.
Once your menu is ready, click on the header in the page editor to open its settings.
By default, the header inherits the logo from your BrandKit. To keep this behavior, make sure the BrandKit logo toggle is turned on. If you'd like to use a different logo, toggle it off and enter your logo settings manually.
In the header settings, click the menu dropdown and select the menu you created in HubSpot Settings. The navigation will update immediately to reflect your selection.
Open the button dropdown in the header settings to modify the call-to-action button. You can update the button text, change the link, and optionally add an icon.
If your site uses multi-language content, navigate to the language switcher section in the header settings to configure those options.
